News Update : 26-JUL-26

Since the last news update, we have:

a) Continued with our monthly scheduled litter pick :

7 volunteers met at Summerfields on Wednesday 01-JUL-26. We covered Summerfields, Colshaw Drive and the surrounding area.

We collected 12 bags and had a well-earned drink in Subways afterwards.

b) Continued with our solo picks several of which were in the run up to the annual “Britain In Bloom” judging on 23-JUL-26,

Areas covered include Hawthorn Lane, Grove Street, Green Lane, Parkway, Wilmslow Library, Hawthorne Street, Grove Avenue, Hoopers & Sainsburys car parks, Racecourse Road, Altrincham Road, Buckingham Road, Alderley Road, Station Road, Walpole Way, the footpath behind the Rectory field, the Leisure Centre car park, Waters roundabout and Altrincham Road.

Many thanks to everyone who did a solo pick – especially Helen, Margaret, Peter, Chris M., Alan, Ian, Chris E., Gareth and Val.

c) Submitted an article that has now been published online :

d) Continued to support the students who are litter picking for the voluntary section of their Duke of Edinburgh scheme.

e) Ordered some new hi-viz jackets

f) Reported the re-growth of some Japanese Knot Weed, on the verge of the A538 near Waters roundabout, to Cheshire East.

g) Started to progress the purchase of a new banner that we can display at the various community events where we have a stall :New Clean Team banner design with logo and QR codes
