a) Continued with our twice monthly litter picks :
3 volunteers met at Bank Square on Wednesday 01-OCT-25. We collected 5 bags plus some recyclables that were taken home and put in the silver bin. We were disappointed by the upkeep of the area outside Tesco Express on Green Lane – rubbish was spilling out of their commercial bins all over the ground. We will add this as an agenda item at the next committee meeting.
2 volunteers braved the very wet and windy weather and met at Lacey Green Park on Saturday 04-OCT-25 (storm Amy). 3 bags were collected before giving in to the weather.
b) Continued with our solo picks.
c) Responded to a contact made by the community engagement manager from Brsk (the internet service provider). They are looking to provide support which might be equipment and/or volunteers.
d) Emailed Waitrose to find out if/how we can benefit from the recently re-introduced “Green Token” scheme.
e) Investigated alternative ways of communicating with our members.
